The main purpose of the study is to examine the effect of human resource practices on an organizations performance (a case study of Ghana Revenue Authority). The specific objectives of the study was:

  1. To find out the human resource practices at GRA and whether they are effective.
  2. To establish the relationship between human resource practices and organizational performance at GRA.
  3. To find the challenges faced with human resource practices and policies at GRA.

The study was purely descriptive in nature and also quantitative. The population of the study consisted of all employees of Ghana Revenue Authority, Adabraka branch. Their total population was 60 persons. Out of the 60 persons, 52 persons were sampled out for the study. However, only fifty questionnaires were returned bringing the sample size to fifty (50). The researcher used the simple random sampling technique to sample the 50 respondents for the study. Questionnaires were used as the tool for data collection. The Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS v.20.0) was used for data coding, entry and analysis.
