Effects of Trust in Psychological Contracts on Employee Performance
The main objective of the study is to examine the effects of trust in psychological contracts on employee performance at Prudential bank. The study will specifically aim to;
- Assess the level of trust by employees in Prudential bank using the trust me scale.
- Evaluate the strength of psychological contracts among employees in Prudential bank using the psychological contract inventory.
- Examine how psychological contracts affect the performance of Prudential bank employees.
- Evaluate the moderating role of employee trust in the relationship between psychological contract and employee performance.
The study adopted a quantitative design approach. Quantitative research designs are used when researcher seeks to conduct statistical analysis, use lots of subjects, or strive for accuracy and to generalize. This was necessary because the descriptive research design provide the opportunity for thorough interpretation and explanation of the constructs for this study. The population of the study was Prudential bank’s Suame Maakro and Adum Branches in Kumasi. The total number of persons at these three branches was 45. The respondents were from diverse departments. All forty-five (45) employees were sampled out for the study. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used in the analysis of data.
