The main objective of the study is to examine Ghanaian students’ foreign news consumption. A survey of Accra Technical University, University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) And Nungua Senior High School. Specifically, the study sought to;

  1. Access whether students read or watch foreign news.
  2. Determine whether students are interested in foreign news or not.
  3. Identify the most visited platforms for foreign news consumption for students.
  4. Analyze how many times students consume foreign news.

The study adopted the descriptive study design and was purely quantitative in nature. The population of the study comprised all students of Accra Technical University, University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) and Nungua Senior High School. According to reliable sources within the schools, Accra Technical University has a population of 17, 427, University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has a population of whiles 4,800 whiles Nungua Senior High School has a population of 1,994. Hence the total population for the three schools was 24, 221.A total of four hundred and fifty (450) students were sampled out for the study with 150 students coming from each school. A probability sampling procedure was adopted for this study specifically simple random sampling. Questionnaire were used as the data collection instrument. Responses gathered were analyzed using SPSS.
