The purpose of this study is to investigate how work-life balance affects performance and efficiency in Africa specifically Ghana. Specifically, the study seeks to:

  1. Examine the relationship between women in leadership and work-life balance.
  2. Determine the relationship between women in leadership and performance.
  3. Analyze the relationship between work- life balance and performance.

The study adopted a descriptive study approach. Descriptive survey aims predominantly at observing, describing and documenting aspects of a situation as it naturally occurs rather than explaining them. The design provides a more accurate picture of events at a point in time. The study was purely quantitative in nature. The population for this study included career women in both the private and public sector in Ghana specifically GRA (customs division) Accra, Camfed Ghana. (Headquarters), GN bank (Techiman and Kumasi) and Central University Accra totaling 362 persons. Out of the population of 362, a sample size of 110 was selected. A total of one hundred and ten (110) questionnaires was administered. A questionnaire was chosen as the data collection instrument. The Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) was used for data coding, entry and analysis.
