The Contribution of Microfinance Institutions on of SMEs Development
The main objective of this study was to access the contribution of Microfinance Institutions on of SMEs development in Ghana. The specific objectives of the study were;
- To examine the effect of MFI contribution on SME growth and sustainability.
- To determine whether MFIs have been able to improve SMEs access to credit.
- To determine challenges MFI’s face in providing their services to SMEs.
The study adopted the descriptive research design. The population of the study were all employees of the five MFI under study namely; Delta Microfinance, Cash Point Microfinance Limited, Fast Track Microfinance Limited, EV Microfinance and Dunia Microfinance. Twenty (20) employees were sampled out from each MFI. Hence, the sample size for the study is 100. A simple random sampling technique was employed to select 100 employees out of all the employees. Questionnaires were used as the data collection instrument. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to process the quantitative data.
