The Effect of Employee Motivation on Job Satisfaction and Productivity in Public Institutions
The general objective of the study was to examine the effect of employee motivation on job satisfaction and productivity in public institutions: a case of Western Regional Coordinating Council. The specific objectives were:
- To identify the motivational factors influencing employee job satisfaction at the western regional coordinating council.
- To identify the motivational factors influencing employee productivity at the western regional coordinating council.
- To examine the relationship between employee motivation and job satisfaction.
- To examine the relationship between employee motivation and employee productivity.
The study adopted the descriptive research design. Based on the research objectives of this study, the quantitative method was chosen. The targeted population was employees of the Western Regional Coordinating Council totalling eighty eight (88) persons. Looking at the population of the study, the researcher decided to use all eighty-eight (88) employees as the sample. Within the frame of the non-probability sampling, convenience sampling was used. Questionnaires were used as the data collection instrument. The data collected from the respondents was coded and analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (version.16).
