The main objective of this study was assessing the effect of training and development on employee innovative work behaviour using Court of Appeal as case study. The study specifically sought to;

  1. Identify the relationship between training and development and employee innovative work behaviour.
  2. Assess the benefits of training and development programmes on employees.
  3. Examine the challenges of training and development at the Court.

The study adopted a descriptive survey approach and was purely quantitative in nature. The population of the study was employees at the Court of Appeal. Their total number is fifty (50). Forty-four (44) persons were sampled out for the study according to Krejcie and Morgan (1970) sampling size determination table. According to Krejcie and Morgan (2010), a population of 50 must have a sample size of 44. Hence, the sample size for the study is 44.   A simple random sampling technique was employed to select the 44 employees out of all the employees. Questionnaires were used as the data collection instrument. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used in the analysis of data.
