The main objective of this study was to access the effects of microfinance institutions on the growth of small and medium scale enterprises in Ghana using Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal District as case study. The specific objectives of the study were;

  1. To examine the product and services of microfinance which help in SME growth and sustainability.
  2. To examine loan accessibility arrangements of MFIs for SMEs.
  3. To evaluate the extent to which MFI’s have assisted in SME growth and sustainability.

The study adopted the descriptive research design. The population of the study were clients (SMEs) of MFIs within the Ledzekuku-Krowor Municipal District. One hundred (100) SMEs were sampled out for the study. Convenience sampling was adopted for this study. Questionnaires were used as the data collection instrument. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to process the quantitative data.
