The Impact of Organizational Health and Safety Awareness on Safe Practices and Employee Well-Being
The main objective of the study was to examine the impact of organizational health and safety awareness on safe practices and employee well-being using Aluworks Ghana (Head office) as case study. Specifically, the study sought to:
- Examine safety and health policies within the organization.
- Assess the contribution of safety and health policies in achieving employee performance.
- Identify challenges affecting the implementation of health and safety policies at the workplace.
The study adopted the descriptive research design specifically a case study approach. The target population of this study comprised all the employees of Aluworks Ghana, Head Office branch. The total number of persons at the head office was 60. Hence the population of the study is 60 persons. Fifty-two (52) employees were however sampled for the study which represents 86.6% of the total population. A simple random sampling technique was employed to select the 52 employees out of all the employees. A questionnaire was chosen as the data collection instrument. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS v.21.0) was used to analyze the data collected.
